FRIED PASTA CHIPS

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 box (1 pound) bowtie pasta
  • oil for frying
  • salt to season

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions, but for only half of the cooking time. Drain the pasta.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium high heat. You need enough oil to cover the pasta ~ depending on the size of your pan probably around a 1/2 cup. Working in batches, fry the pasta until golden, flip & then fry until both sides are light golden brown.
  3. Remove from the pan and immediately season with salt. Repeat the process until all of the pasta is fried.

  1. I wasn’t to do this for a party but I have a few questions. Can I get this before hand? Will it stay crispy? Does it have to be served hot?

    1. They will stay crispy Linda if you do them beforehand as long as you keep them stored in an airtight container. I probably wouldn’t do them more than the day before the party though just to not risk them possibly starting to get that stale chip taste 🙂

  2. Have you tried to fry without pre cooking? Just a thought I know a teenager works at taco bll, says the cinnamon twist are just deep fried pasta twist. And they sure are good.

  3. Pasta is one of my favorite thing (its made from the same thing bread is, after all!) I can’t wait to try this! Thanks for posting this on the OBC Friday Pin Party. Deb@ Kneaded Creations
